Our School
Spring Bilingual Montessori Academy
aims to create a learning environment in which students are encouraged to explore their own innate sense of curiosity and eagerness to gain knowledge.
Our Rich History
Founded in 1967 by Ms. Anna Neri, a direct pupil of Dr. Maria Montessori, SBMA has innovated and refined the concept of integrating a Montessori education with the acquisition of proficiency in a second language. Programs available in Spanish, French and Mandarin.
Our Well-Rounded Program
Our program is thoughtfully designed to meet the individual needs of each child. What sets our learning experience apart from traditional Montessori environments is the parallel instruction of a second language. This approach nurtures our students’ global awareness and empathy, while encouraging a deeper understanding of the diverse world around them.
The Advantages of Our Bilingual Program
Extensive research in early childhood education has shown that children are most sensitive and receptive to a second language between birth to age six. During this critical developmental window, children learn most effectively by naturally absorbing language through interaction with their environment. This process is intuitive and joyful, often embraced with enthusiasm as children engage in purposeful activities and social experiences.
The advantages of this added understanding go beyond the simple acquisition of a second vocabulary: SBMA believes that to know something of the spoken and written language of another group of people is akin to being acquainted with them. Language enables us to delve into another culture’s philosophy, folklore, literature and music. Through this understanding, we can begin to bridge the unnatural barriers separating the world today.
Our Multicultural Community
We firmly believe that children learn best in a community that reflects both shared experiences and differing perspectives. We take great pride in the rich diversity of our student body and staff—representing a variety of racial, socio-economic, and geographic backgrounds—which fosters a learning environment rooted in inclusion, empathy, and mutual respect. We wish to give our children the inspiration to create a better world tomorrow.
Parent Reviews
SBMA is not just a school but a true community. The teachers are amazing, loving, and caring, and the other families are wonderful and welcoming. Our kids have really flourished under your care, and we know that even when they move on from SBMA, we will continue to be in touch.

We love SBMA so much. I cannot express how grateful we are for this school - for everyone on staff, the board, the leadership, and the families. It is truly a special place that has opened the door for us to new friends and opportunities. Before enrolling in SBMA, I didn’t have a network of other parents. SBMA has helped immerse me in the community, which has enriched our entire family. SBMA has been a safe, loving, and educational place for my children, but it is so much more than that.
