Yolanda Bonilla
Spanish Primary Classroom Assistant
Ms. Yolanda has been a dedicated member of our school community since 2010. She began working in early childhood education in 2005 and quickly fell in love with the Montessori approach. Born in Houston and raised in Virginia, she is proud of her Salvadoran heritage, bilingual in English and Spanish. She especially values using Spanish in the classroom to connect with students. “It makes me so proud when a child responds to me in Spanish or asks me to translate a word,” she shares. Ms. Yolanda also enjoys supporting children as they explore the Montessori math curriculum, watching them absorb complex ideas in a way that is meaningful, logical and beautiful all at once.
She loves spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, seeing movies and shows, and traveling—having visited 11 countries so far. Her favorite memory is holding a sloth in Roatán, Honduras. Her warmth, cultural pride, and enthusiasm make her a cherished part of our school community.
