Aimée Becker
Lead French/Mandarin Primary Teacher
Ms. Aimée has been with SBMA since 2019 and has worked in education since 2010. Her journey began at the Smithsonian National Zoo where she gave educational tours, and it was through this role that she discovered her passion for educating young children. She brings experience in environmental education and early literacy support, and holds a Montessori teaching credential alongside a degree in Anthropology from St. Mary’s College. Fluent in French and English, with conversational skills in American Sign Language, Ms. Aimée brings a vibrant and inclusive spirit to the classroom. She especially enjoys Practical Life work—polishing being her favorite for its calming, visible results. “I love how much fun learning is at this age,” she shares. “Every piece of information is a revelation.”
Outside of school, Ms. Aimée enjoys making art, exploring nature, and playing board games. She is currently pursuing dual citizenship with France, honoring her family roots in Martinique, a French island territory in the Caribbean. Her creativity, warmth, and deep joy in teaching shine through in all she does.
